Decided I'd do a little post of one of my stories.  This particular story is a fanfiction, and is highly psychological, so if you don't like that sort of thing (and gore), then please do not read it.  As it is, this is just a preview and a link to the rest will be provided at the end.

Jorogumo
Part 1
The Beginning of Chaos

-

He was in the middle of yet another exorcism.  A man had fallen from the roof of a penthouse, only for those who found him to realize he'd already been dead.  They'd squawked and ran around like chickens with their heads cut off, trying to find out how this had happened – who would have killed Mr. Takamichi?!  How will we hide his death! - but it was all in vain.

The Kusuriuri simply stood by and watched in vague amusement as first one, then several of the employees began ushering people out, and making sure no one saw – for the few that did, they were told that he was merely unconscious.

“Who are you?” the girl asked, looking up at him and seemingly unbothered by the fact that his hand was resting on her shoulder.

“We should get to a smaller room,” he said softly, loud enough for her and the boy – Kyoya, he thought she'd called him – to hear but no one else.  “Please.”

“Okay,” she agreed and stood, leaving the dead body behind as she ordered her three companions into a smaller office room, though large enough for them all to be in comfortably.

Kusuriuri urged the employees to follow and shut the doors behind him. He ignored the usual shrieks of surprise and let his talisman papers fly, covering the walls.  They turned first black and then red, glowing, and his eyes widened in surprise.  That had been very close.

“Who are you?” the girl repeated, pushing away two identical boys – twins? - that had covered her with their bodies unnecessarily when he'd put up the barrier.  “Do you know what's going on here?”

“...  ah...  Forgive me,” he murmured with a slight bow.  “I am simply..."
